THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS review

Are you a fan of thrillers? Do you like zombies? Do you like non happy ending stories?
If yes then I just spoiled this story for you. It has everything to do with thrill, zombies and a tragic ending.

The girl with all the gifts (TGWATG) is a book written by M.R. Carey, a science fiction published by Orbit (www.orbitbooks.net) that got me intrigued during last year's book fair.  I had no idea that it had anything to do with zombies nor a tragic ending before reading this book. So when I started reading it and as the story develops, it eventually gave me goosebumps. The writer was amazing in giving a very detailed gruesome description of Melanie's story and helped me envision London's decay.  There were scenes in this book that just squeezed my heart out and almost made me cry. The ending did not make me cry but for some reason it made me feel hopeful for the main character.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of this book (because I prefer happy endings and magical stuff) but I enjoyed reading it! I actually finished the book!

I would again recommend this book for you who love thrillers, horror and I guess stories about being just human. However, if you do not wish to read the book then you can check out the movie trailer!

The film adaptation though was a little different from what I imagined while reading the book. I always see Melanie as a pale white looking creature while the teacher was a brown woman <shrug>
